Cricket is a major and highly popular sport during the summer term, engaging boys across all age groups.
The program is strengthened by regular, expert coaching sessions provided by both RBAI and Instonian coaches, who prioritise skill development alongside ensuring the game is as enjoyable as possible.
The sport is introduced progressively: younger boys play Kwik Cricket using a soft ball, while P6 and P7 pupils move on to challenging ‘hard ball’ competitive fixtures against other schools.
The P7 team consistently achieving success and frequently winning the prestigious Under 11 Schools’ Cup, alongside notable victories in the Under 12 competitions.
This high standard ensures that many boys are selected for the NCU (Northern Cricket Union) development squads and are well-prepared to transition into the competitive senior school cricket program at RBAI.
