P7 Residential Trip to Scotland

Our P7 boys recently returned from a fantastic residential trip to Scotland, filled with discovery, adventure and unforgettable experiences.

The trip offered a wonderful opportunity for the boys to learn beyond the classroom, exploring Scotland’s rich history, cutting‑edge science and iconic landmarks while also building independence and strengthening friendships.

One of the highlights of the trip was a visit to the Glasgow Science Centre, where pupils enjoyed a hands‑on experience with interactive exhibits. From exploring space and technology to experimenting with physics and engineering concepts, the boys were fully engaged, asking questions and testing ideas in a fun and stimulating environment.

In contrast, our visit to Edinburgh Castle brought history to life. Standing high above the city, the castle provided a fascinating insight into Scotland’s past. Boys explored its historic buildings, learned about key events and figures, and were captivated by the stories behind this iconic landmark.

The trip also took us to The Helix to see the magnificent Kelpies. These impressive horse‑head sculptures sparked great discussion about Scottish heritage, engineering and art, and made for a memorable photo opportunity.

Back in Glasgow, we stepped aboard the Tall Ship Glenlee, where the boys experienced what life was like as a sailor at sea. Walking the decks and exploring the ship gave everyone a real sense of maritime history and the challenges faced by those who worked on such vessels.

Another standout experience was our visit to Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh. This immersive attraction allowed us to journey through the history of our planet — from the Big Bang to modern day environmental issues. The interactive exhibits and dramatic visuals helped deepen their understanding of Earth’s natural processes and the importance of sustainability.

Throughout the week, the boys displayed excellent behaviour, curiosity and enthusiasm. They supported one another, embraced new experiences and represented the school with pride at all times.

The residential trip was not only educational but also a valuable opportunity for personal growth. Many boys stepped outside their comfort zones, developed confidence and created lasting memories with their peers.

We are incredibly proud of all the boys and grateful to the staff who supported and organised such a successful trip.
