Primary 6

Welcome to P6

P6 at Inchmarlo is an exciting year of academic growth, outdoor adventures, and pushing personal limits.

Under the teaching of Mr Moreland, the P6 curriculum at Inchmarlo builds upon the core literacy and numeracy skills learned in P5.

Accelerated Reader continues to play an important role in encouraging and celebrating reading.

The boys also delve into a diverse range of topics, including: The Vikings,  Space and The Irish Famine, enriching their learning through engaging subjects.

The academic programme is complemented by a varied schedule of specialist lessons, with two weekly music lessons and regular trips to the computer suite to enhance their ICT skills.

In addition to weekly sports, the boys also participate in a Shared Education program with local schools.

Beyond the classroom

A key highlight of the P6 experience is the residential trip to the Share Centre in May.

This three-night adventure is designed to foster independence and resilience.

The boys get to try a variety of exciting outdoor activities, such as kayaking, sailing, and the increasingly popular gorge walking.

The trip also includes a visit to the Marble Arch Caves to learn about their unique geological features.

This residential trip is not just about the activities, though; it’s a fantastic opportunity for the boys to strengthen their friendships and create lasting memories.
