Inchmarlo School Closure Advice

INCHMARLO PREPARATORY DEPARTMENT (RBAI)
Due to school closure there has been a pack  of work sent home for your child. This pack will provide enough work until Easter.
If your son has been self-isolating and hasn’t been in school, the packs will be available to pick up in the Inchmarlo Foyer – Thursday and Friday between 10AM AND 12NOON
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT DUE TO THE P2 JOB SHARE THE PACK WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM MRS BELL AT THE TIMES SHOWN ABOVE ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY
It will be consolidation of work that has already been covered so far this year and can be completed at a time convenient to you and your son. As you can imagine different ages and year groups will provide work in different ways.

P3 & P4 – Hard copies of booklets and extension and supplementary work through online resources- COMMUNICATION ABOUT THIS WORK WILL BE THROUGH SEESAW
P5 & P6 – Hard copies of booklets / text books and extension and supplementary work through online resources – COMMUNICATION ABOUT WHAT WORK TO DO WILL BE THROUGH POSTS ON GOOGLE CLASSROOM
P7 – received their pack last Friday containing text books, workbooks and novels. COMMUNICATION ABOUT WHAT WORK TO DO, PROJECTS ETC WILL BE THROUGH POSTS ON GOOGLE CLASSROOM
Once the situation is clearer regarding long term closures we will be in touch again with detailed guidance about the summer term. We envisage it will be a much more structured approach with work being distributed every week with teaching, feedback and monitoring available online throughout the week.
WHAT CAN PARENTS DO TO HELP?
– Make sure you are signed up to either SEESAW or GOOGLE CLASSROOM (class codes for Google Classroom are going out over the next few days )
– If you have a specific learning query that is not appropriate for Google Classroom or SEESAW please use the info@ email account and include the teacher’s name in the Subject line. This will be forwarded to the teacher concerned and we will commit to reply to questions within 24 hours. – Online learning is something new to all primary schools and we are all finding our feet with it. Please be rest assured that we are doing our very best to create a plan to allow the boys to learn from a distance if this situation continues long term. We will be using the next few weeks to trial Google Classroom and other methods so please bear with us while we sort that out. It will never be the main method of setting work in a primary setting but will be used to extend, enhance and as something different for the boys. We appreciate that not all boys have access to computers and even those that do some of their parents are using the computer for their work because they are also home. Keep working with your son and teachers so that we can get through this together.
