The Inchmarlo P1 boys have had a fabulous first half term at school. There have been lots of opportunities for getting to know each other and the school routine and they have all settled into school life really well. The boys have enjoyed spending time playing together in the playroom, playpark, Forest School and making their first important steps as independent learners.
The boys have made super steps of progress in their phonics and reading and there are lots of fun ways of practising these skills, we especially like getting the jumbo chalks out!
To help get our little fingers stronger we spend lots of time working on our fine motor skills with different play activities, dough disco is a firm favourite at Inchmarlo!
Learning about shapes, patterns and numbers is always fun in the classroom.
Numicon is used right across Inchmarlo and it is a resource we use in P1 a lot.
Getting outside to our very own Forest School is one of our favourite things to do. We like to take our literacy and numeracy outside.
Our playpark is so much fun! The boys have the chance to play, talk, cooperate, build and have fun together in the fresh air.
On a Wednesday and a Friday we have music with Mrs McMichael. The P1 boys recently sang their Jack Patches Harvest song to the whole school and they were just amazing!
Every week Mrs Stockdale (RBAI) comes to the classroom to take the boys for an Art session – it is always great fun.
On Fridays we have Spanish with Mr Morrow.
P.E. keeps everyone busy on a Tuesday!
There are lots of opportunites for play in our super playroom.
We have regular circle times to talk about our feelings.
In P1 we have a very busy and fun packed week!
