P6 Football Success

On Tuesday 3rd March, the P6 7-a-side football team played Holy Family in the under 10/P6 Cup. This was the first match for the boys and they started very well with an early goal from Archie Kennedy into the top corner. This was quickly followed by another from Archie and a rebound from Elijah Cheung. Holy Family had a few chances in the first half but good defending kept the score 3-0 at half time.

The second half started well for both teams with opportunities at both ends. Inchmarlo stretched their lead to 4-0 with Luke Crothers heading the ball cleanly into the back of the net from a corner. Holy Family attacked straight from the whistle and again the defence had to step up. Dylan played well in goals making several vital saves. But an excellent finish from Sam Coulter saw Inchmarlo creep further into the lead. Holy Family were incredibly unlucky when a strong strike hit the post and rebounded to safety.

The final few minutes provided end to end action. Elijah scored again with a half volley to put the score at 6-0. Holy Family were rewarded with a well-deserved goal just before the final whistle to make the final score 6-1.

Both teams played in a sporting manner and great skills were displayed throughout. Congratulations to the P6 team.
