Primary 2

Welcome to P2

Fostering curiosity and building independence, both inside and outside of the classroom

RBAI Crest White Outline

P2 focusses on core skills through a hands – on and creative approach.

In Primary 2 at Inchmarlo, we provide a fun and engaging learning environment where boys continue to build on the foundations laid in P1.

In our classroom, boys develop their reading, writing, and phonics skills through a range of activities that make learning to read and write a real adventure.

We also continue to consolidate early mathematical concepts like number, shape, and measure through practical and interactive lessons.

Our curriculum is brought to life through exciting topics, including a journey back in time to discover dinosaurs, a thrilling quest with pirates, and an exploration of different cultures from around the world.

A highlight of the year is our trip to the Belfast Activity Centre for Pirates’ Day, where the boys dress up and tackle the high ropes and explore the deep caves, reinforcing teamwork and resilience.

Our learning extends beyond the classroom with weekly sessions at Forest School, where the boys engage with nature, develop problem – solving skills, and learn through outdoor play. These experiences enrich their development and help them apply their classroom knowledge in exciting new ways.

Whether it be a music lesson, a trip to the computer suite or specialist rugby or cricket coaching, every day in P2 has something for everybody.
